Ballet Papier's this year’s collaboration with IBStage -one of the most prestigious ballet summer programs in Europe, held in Barcelona- is very special.
Berenice La Placa has been inspired by the most iconic images that will represent the event this year to create two drawings that have been embodied in two different T-shirts specially designed for the occasion.
The men’s T-shirt has as a central image dancer Samuel Rodriguez, who participated in past editions, which represents that jump to greatness, to the stars.
The fulfilled dream to dance in a great stage such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu, represented by the small lights as stars and which the dancer is facing.
We also have Barcelona's Skyline, since this event is held in this magnificent city in which art, diversity and vanguard are combined.
The women's T-shirt, on the other hand, is centered on a dancing female figure inspired by Lauren Cuthbertson, Principal with the Royal Ballet of London and main image of this year’s edition.
This figure is in "attitude", a dance step, but also an evocation to the determinate attitude that a dancer must have which will be essential for the success in this demanding profession.
Also the ballerina is centered between two lamp posts and with Barcelona’s skyline in the back. These lamp posts are a special symbol of the city of Barcelona, since these have been inspired by the ones designed by Antoni Gaudí and which have become iconic figures of the city’s architecture.
Furthermore, the lights of the lamps are the lights which will guide ballet dancers to success, to achieve the dream of arriving to the center stages!
These T-shirts will be available to be acquired in IBStage’s Summer Stage in Barcelona and also very soon through their website!
